The Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee media platform is publishing a preliminary human rights incident report prepared by Yasir Shafaat, Human Rights Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, LLM in Human Rights Law.
The report documents serious human rights concerns, including reported civilian killings, mass injuries, missing persons, denial of medical access, and the continued refusal to release the body of Fahad Barkat to his family in Pakistan-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
The report is based on information directly verified through deceased families, local journalists, and local residents. It also includes photographic evidence and calls for urgent independent investigation, evidence preservation, disclosure of casualty and detention records, medical access for injured persons, and accountability for the use of force against civilians.
