The Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JKJAAC) welcomes the remarks made by UK Member of Parliament Ayoub Khan, who expressed concern over the humanitarian and human rights situation in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and called for urgent dialogue to restore normalcy.

JKJAAC appreciates Mr. Khan's recognition of the concerns raised by members of the British Kashmiri diaspora, many of whom have close family ties to Azad Jammu & Kashmir and have experienced deep anxiety over recent developments. His acknowledgment of the distress caused by communication disruptions, reported restrictions affecting essential supplies, and the importance of ensuring access to food, medicine, and healthcare reflects the humanitarian concerns that have been repeatedly raised by affected communities.

The Committee also welcomes Mr. Khan's call for responsible public discourse, emphasizing that language used by public officials should build bridges rather than deepen divisions. At a time of heightened tensions, JKJAAC believes that respectful dialogue and restraint are essential to protecting public confidence and promoting peaceful resolution.

JKJAAC further appreciates Mr. Khan's commitment to raising these issues with the Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan and his assurance that Members of Parliament will continue to monitor developments closely. Continued parliamentary engagement and international attention play an important role in encouraging transparency, protecting fundamental rights, and supporting peaceful solutions.

Our movement remains an indigenous, peaceful, and independent civil rights movement founded upon the principles of Haq-e-Hukamrani (the right to participatory governance) and Haq-e-Malkiat (the right of the people over their land and natural resources). We remain committed to democratic engagement, non-violence, and constructive dialogue.

JKJAAC reiterates its call upon the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir to ensure that humanitarian needs are met, that communication channels remain open, that fundamental freedoms are respected, and that meaningful dialogue is expedited in the interest of lasting peace and stability.

The Committee remains hopeful that through dialogue, mutual respect, and implementation of commitments made to the people, a peaceful and just resolution can be achieved.
