JKJAAC Welcomes Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s Clear Call for Immediate Implementation of Promises Made to the People of Azad Jammu & Kashmir
The people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir have raised legitimate demands for basic rights, transparent governance, accountability, dignity, and implementation of signed agreements, including the Muzaffarabad Agreement. Promises made to the people must now be turned into practical action through a clear, public and time-bound roadmap. The way forward is dialogue, de-escalation, restoration of civil liberties, and fulfilment of commitments.

The Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee welcomes the statement by Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in which he has clearly urged the Federal Government of Pakistan and the Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir to immediately fulfil all promises made to the people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
JKJAAC considers this statement an important acknowledgement that the concerns of the people of AJK are genuine and that the solution lies in political dialogue, democratic responsibility, and timely implementation of commitments already made.
The people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir have repeatedly raised their voice for basic rights, fair electricity tariffs, affordable flour, transparent governance, accountability, dignity, and implementation of written agreements. These demands are not against any institution or people; they are the legitimate voice of citizens seeking justice and relief.
JKJAAC notes Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s remarks that promises made to the people must be treated as a trust and fulfilled without delay. This principle must now be translated into immediate practical action by both the Federal Government of Pakistan and the Azad Government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
JKJAAC calls upon all relevant authorities to implement all accepted demands and signed agreements in letter and spirit, including the Muzaffarabad Agreement, and to provide a clear, public, time-bound roadmap for implementation.
At this sensitive moment, the people of AJK need healing, responsibility, and political maturity. Delay, force, arrests, communication restrictions, and confrontation will only deepen public mistrust. The way forward is dialogue, de-escalation, restoration of civil liberties, and fulfilment of commitments made to the people.
JKJAAC also calls on all political parties in Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir to rise above partisan interests and support a peaceful, democratic, and rights-based resolution of the current crisis.
The people of Azad Jammu & Kashmir deserve dignity, justice, accountable governance, and the fulfilment of promises made to them. JKJAAC will continue its peaceful struggle until agreed commitments are implemented and public rights are protected.
